Rosie’s Disobedient Press is an artist-led publisher based in Govanhill, Glasgow. Rosie’s began as a collaboration between two friends, Lis and Adrien, to explore how writing and language manifest within visual and material practice. Now, alongside Georgia and Emmy, Rosie’s is a multidisciplinary small press, working both nationally and internationally, in response to artists working with language in a multitude of ways; including events, commissions, workshops, audio works, interviews and more traditional book projects. Our relationships with our artists, writers, readers and our wider community are at the heart of what we do.

The press is named after Adrien’s Yorkshire Terrier, Rosie, whose energy and attitude lent themselves well to our approach to small press publishing. Rosie’s is interested in cross-genre and experimental forms, and a variety of work from marginalised perspectives. We carry the phrase ‘never give up on getting somewhere’ by Callie Gardener with us everywhere. This phrase has stayed with us from the very first conversations we had about what Rosies could be, the idea of momentum, of moving forward - sometimes against all odds. The collectiveness of being together, sharing work, challenging structures and also each other.

and so we continue.
